Bike Insurance is financial protection for your two-wheeler against damages, theft, or third-party liabilities arising from accidents. It ensures peace of mind while riding and is mandatory by law in India.

There are mainly two types:
Third-Party Liability Insurance - Mandatory by law, covers damages to others.
Comprehensive Insurance - Covers both third-party and your own bike's damages, theft, fire, and natural calamities.

Every two-wheeler owner must buy at least a Third-Party Insurance (mandatory). However, a Comprehensive Policy is highly recommended for riders who want complete protection from accidents, theft, or natural disasters.

At minimum, you need a Third-Party cover. For better safety, choose a Comprehensive policy with add-ons like Zero Depreciation, Roadside Assistance, and Engine Protect for maximum benefits.

Bike Insurance generally does not provide tax benefits. However, if you use your two-wheeler for business purposes, you may claim the premium as a business expense under tax laws.

You can purchase policies from different insurers for add-on covers, but only one active policy will be valid for claims at a time. It's best to stick with one comprehensive plan instead of multiple overlapping ones.

If your policy lapses, you lose coverage as well as No Claim Bonus (NCB). Riding without valid insurance is illegal and attracts heavy penalties. Always renew on time to stay protected.
